ROME, N.Y. — Rome Health has appointed Brandon Pugh as its director of preparedness coordinator.
He is responsible for the coordination and implementation of emergency preparedness and safety standards to provide a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
“Brandon’s experience in EMS and the hospital, combined with his training in incident-command systems, will help the hospital continue to be well-prepared to respond to all types of emergency situations from natural disasters to life-threatening security incidents,” Rome Health COO Ryan Thompson said in a news release.
A native of Lee Center, Pugh has 10 years of experience in emergency medical services and volunteered with the Lee Center Fire Department, where he also served as an EMT. He joined Rome Health in 2012 and has worked in support roles throughout the patient-care areas.
Pugh graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College with associates degrees in applied science and general studies. He earned multiple certifications from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the incident-command system, which provides a structure for people and organizations to work together seamlessly to plan for and respond to natural and manmade disasters.
