ROME, N.Y. — The Rome Health Community Pharmacy opened Nov. 14 in the new medical center on the hospital’s main campus.

Open to the public, the pharmacy has parking and an entrance facing Oak Street. It provides convenient access for primary-care patients who need prescriptions filled after an appointment. The pharmacy also offers “meds to beds” service for hospital patients when they are discharged.

The pharmacy’s hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and it is closed from 12:30-1 p.m. daily for lunch.

Rome Health opened the new pharmacy just a week after it celebrated the opening of the new $11.4 million medical center on Nov. 7. The medical center, using a pod design, brings together primary care, surgical specialists, diagnostic testing, and the retail pharmacy under one roof to provide convenient and coordinated patient care that is in close proximity to additional services at the hospital, including medical imaging, cardiopulmonary, and cardiology services.

Rome Health, a comprehensive health-care system with services from primary to long-term care, is an affiliate of St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse and an affiliated clinical site of New York Medical College.
