ROME, N.Y. — Rome Health opened its new $11.4 million medical center, located on the hospital’s main campus, on Monday.
The new 31,000-square-foot, two-story medical center brings together primary care, surgical specialists, diagnostic testing, and retail pharmacy under one roof to provide convenient, accessible, and coordinated patient care. It’s pod design, with six care-team pods and a total of 42 exam rooms, supports providers and care teams in delivering patient-centered care. The design also includes adjacent space for the care team and providers to collaborate.
The new space is located close to adjacent services at the hospital, making it easier for patients who need multiple services to receive medical imaging, cardiopulmonary services, and cardiology services.
Primary-care physicians Michael Attilio and Lwin Win are the first providers to begin seeing patients in the new medical center. Over the next three months, providers from Rome Medical Group adult and pediatrics services and the bariatric and general surgeons from Rome Health Surgical specialists will move into the new facility.
Patients may use the parking lot off Oak Street and enter through the Bartlett entrance. A virtual tour of the new facility is available online at romehealth.org/Rome_Health_Primary_Care/.
Rome Health, a nonprofit health-care system, provides services from primary to long-term care. It’s an affiliate of St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse and an affiliated clinical site of New York Medical College.
