ROME, N.Y. — Rome Health will host a career fair on Sept. 29 from 2-5 p.m. at the hospital located at 1500 N. James St. in Rome.

Applicants will be able to interview for open clinical and non-clinical positions during the event.

“We want to make it easy for people to secure their future and start a new career at Rome Health,” Michelle Podeswik, director of human resources, said in a release.

Candidates who are hired for open positions will have the opportunity to begin the employment process at the fair, including completing paperwork, a drug screen, and physical.

With expedited processing, new hires will be ready to start their careers with employee orientation on Oct. 11.

“At Rome Health, we have several entry-level positions available. We’ll train you for positions in food service, patient registration, building services and other support areas,” Podeswik said.

Rome Health raised its minimum wage to $14 per hour and noted that new hires will have “opportunities for growth.”

The hospital also has open positions in nursing, medical imaging, long-term care, and other clinical areas. Sign-on bonuses are available for some positions, including certified nurse assistants: $1500; registered nurses: $3,000 to $10,000, depending upon experience and unit; x-ray tech: $10,000; CT tech: $10,000; food services: $500 and building services: $500.
