NEW HARTFORD — Rome Research Corp., a subsidiary of PAR Technology Corp. (NYSE: PAR), landed a $14.2 million, five-year contract from the U.S. Navy to provide telecommunications operations and maintenance services at the Global Information Grid (GIG) facility.
The site, located at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, Africa will join other communications facilities that Rome Research Corp. (RRC) operates for the Navy.
Services provided will include support to the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa as well as several other tenants at Camp Lemonnier, Steve Lynch, president of PAR Technology’s government operations, said in a release.

Camp Lemonnier is adjacent to the Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport and is home to a multinational force of more than 3,000 personnel along with nearly 800 local national personnel, according to RRC.
The GIG is the global network of information capabilities, processes, and personnel for collecting, processing, storing, disseminating, and managing information on demand for use by military commanders, policy makers, and support personnel. It provides capabilities to operating locations including bases, posts, camps, stations, facilities, mobile platforms, and deployed sites. It also provides interfaces to coalition, allied, and non-Department of Defense users and systems.

RRC currently provides critical communication services at 14 military and government facilities around the world.
