WHITNEY POINT — The Rural Health Network of South Central New York, Inc. (RHNSCNY) has booted up Web-portal access under its Renew Health program.
RHNSCNY brought online Southern Tier HealthLink health-information exchange Web-portal access on Jan. 16. The move, announced today, allows patients to view and manage their own health information online. It also gives RHNSCNY case managers access to patients’ health information — if patients have given consent.
“We are excited that with the [Southern Tier HealthLink] Web portal, our Renew Health team will be better able to facilitate access to medication and health care for patients in the rural communities,” RHNSCNY Director of Community Health Services Leslie Kannus said in a news release. “We expect that patients will want to give their consent knowing that it will help us to provide them with better services so they can more effectively manage their chronic health conditions.”
