The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) rolled out new online initiatives today in an attempt to help business owners learn about the 2010 federal health-care reform law.
A website, www.sba.gov/healthcare, breaks the act’s main provisions into groups based on business size. Information will be grouped for self-employed individuals, companies with fewer than 25 employees, companies with fewer than 50 employees, and companies with 50 or more employees.
The SBA also launched a blog called “Health Care Business Pulse” to update business owners as the reform law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, is implemented. That blog can be accessed at www.sba.gov/blog.
“The Affordable Care Act provides small-business owners with access and opportunity to provide affordable health-care options for their employees,” SBA Administrator Karen Mills said in a news release. “SBA’s new Affordable Care Act Web page and blog will serve as a resource for small-business owners who want [to] learn more about how to take advantage of these benefits.”
