ONONDAGA, N.Y. — The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Onondaga Community College (OCC) is presenting “Small Business of The Year” awards to one business in each of the six counties it serves.
The SBDC is announcing the honors as it acknowledges National Small Business Week, OCC said.
The 2022 honorees are Luminary Electrical (Onondaga County); Paws ‘n Purrs Pet Care (Cayuga County); Seven Valley Specialty Cables (Cortland County); 20 East (Madison County); Great Bear Child Care (Oswego County); Waterloo Chiropractic (Seneca County).

The SBDC at OCC is also handing out two more awards. First, it is recognizing Galvin Farms Gourmet Mushroom Company in Lysander as the Small Agricultural Business of the Year. The SBDC is also honoring M&T Bank as the Regional Small Business Lender Partner of the Year.

Over the past three years (2019-2021), the SBDC at OCC says it has assisted more than 3,400 clients, 400 of whom started new businesses; supported the creation or protection of more than 8300 jobs; and helped entrepreneurs to secure more than $63 million in investment, including loans, grants, or other private financing, per OCC.
