Scallon named to Health Foundation board of trustees

SYRACUSE — Theodore J. Scallon, executive vice president of the Syracuse–based investment-management firm RJR Associates, Inc., has been named to the Health Foundation for Western and Central New York’s board of trustees.

Scallon, a resident of Fayetteville, has long been involved with the community, and just completed 30 years of service on the board of directors of Elmcrest Children’s Center. He has also served for 30 years on the board of regents of Le Moyne College.

The Health Foundation for Western and Central New York was founded in 2002 as the Community Health Foundation of Western and Central New York. It has an endowment of $100 million and its slogan is “investing in better health for people and communities.”

The foundation is based in Buffalo and also has an office in Syracuse. It serves an eight county area of Central New York: Onondaga, Oswego, Cayuga, Tompkins, Cortland, Madison, Oneida, and Herkimer counties.

RJR Associates is an independent, fee-only, registered investment advisor with more than $450 million in assets under management. Its clients include individuals, foundations, endowments, and institutions.
