BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Lisa Schuhle has been appointed permanent director of the Broome County Office for Aging (OFA).

Shuhle has been serving as acting director since October when former Director Jamie Kelly left to take a position with the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.

Schuhle has been with the Broome County OFA since 1986. She has held several positions including field supervisor for the foster grandparent program and coordinator for health and wellness.

From 2007 to 2011, she was the aging service program coordinator for the Yesteryears adult day program, overseeing two adult day programs. In 2011, she took over as the aging-services program coordinator in the information and assistance unit of the OFA, a position she held until stepping in as acting director.

“I am excited for the opportunity to serve permanently as Director,” Schuhle said in a news release. “Broome County Office for Aging has a reputation for being one of the best in the state. I am looking forward to maintaining the high standards the agency is known for in serving the older adults in Broome County.”
