OSWEGO — Irene Scruton has joined SUNY Oswego’s School of Business as director of the college’s MBA programs.
Scruton brings to the director’s position experience in business, education, government, and association management. A former banking executive, she was most recently executive director of the Safety Council of Central and Western New York, a chapter of the National Safety Council.
Before joining the council, she worked as senior vice president at KeyBank Mortgage Funding in Buffalo and Syracuse, and with SUNY Empire State College developing workforce-training programs. Previous to that, Scruton was executive vice president/subsidiary president at Goldome Bank.
Scruton earned her bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo and her MBA from Syracuse University. She is a graduate of the Leadership Greater Syracuse program, where she has served on the board of directors.
