ONONDAGA, N.Y. — The board of directors of SECNY Federal Credit Union (FCU) recently announced the appointment of Peter Vassallo as the credit union’s new executive VP.
Vassallo will take on this new role following the retirement announcement of previous president and CEO Walter Bobesky and the appointment of Courtney Fulmer as Bobesky’s successor.
“I am proud to work with Pete as a strong team at the forefront. His years of expertise and steadfast loyalty to the credit union are immensely valued and I am excited for this collaboration,” Fulmer said in the credit union’s Wednesday news release.
Vassallo has worked for SECNY FCU for more than 16 years, most recently as COO and has served in various other capacities.
Vassallo earned his MBA from the University of Scranton, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Nazareth College, and the NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer designation, the credit union said.
SECNY FCU describes itself as a community credit union with a 52-year history serving Central New York. Membership is open to anyone living, working, worshipping, attending school, as well as businesses and legal entities in Onondaga, Cayuga, Madison and Oswego counties, per the announcement.
