Sessler Companies hires Sherman as director of development & public relations

WATERLOO, N.Y. — The Sessler Companies announced that it has recently hired Bruce Sherman as director of development & public relations at its headquarters in Waterloo.

He will coordinate the property development efforts of 3 S Gateway, LLC and related property development companies and manage public relations for the family of Sessler Companies.

Sherman comes to Sessler with more than 15 years of experience in the private and public sectors. Prior to joining Sessler, Sherman was economic-development specialist for the Cayuga Economic Development Agency (CEDA) in Auburn.

“As a multifaceted demolition firm, we’ve been fortunate to have success in the property development arena over the years, including the redevelopment of the Waterloo Main Street Shop Centre and the development of the Petro Stopping Center in Tyre and the Lowe’s Home Improvement in Geneva,” Jane Shaffer, co-owner of the business along with her brothers Craig and Vern Sessler, said in a news release.

In addition to his most recent work with CEDA, Sherman was an account executive with Tompkins Insurance Agencies, Inc. in Auburn. He began his career in public sector as a planner with the City of Auburn’s Office of Planning & Economic Development and on the staff of State Assemblyman Gary D. Finch.

Sessler Wrecking is a family-owned and operated demolition firm celebrating is 60th anniversary. It says it provides total turn-key demolition services with additional supporting capabilities.
