ORISKANY, N.Y. — Scott A. Shatraw, former senior VP and CFO of Utica First Insurance Company, became president and CEO on Jan. 1, the Oriskany–based company announced Monday.
Shatraw succeeds longtime president and CEO, Richard J. Zick, who will serve as an executive consultant to the board of directors, the firm said in a news release.
Shatraw, a graduate of Le Moyne College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, joined Utica First in 1990 as controller. He is a CPA and a chartered property casualty underwriter.
Founded in 1903, Utica First Insurance says it is a regional property and casualty insurance carrier specializing in serving small contractors, restaurants, retail stores, and offices, as well as homeowners insurance.
