NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. — Slocum-Dickson Medical Group has added a medical weight-loss program to its services.
The new program provides diet, fitness, and healthy behavior management under the direction of Slocum-Dickson internist Dr. Apurva Shah.
“Weight loss can be a struggle for many,” Shah said in a press release. “The medical weight-loss program is designed to help meet weight goals and maintain them, which will improve one’s overall physical and mental health.”
The physician-supervised program uses a combination of clinical and lifestyle modifications to help patients reach their goals. A 3-D health scanner can help track progress by measuring body fat, bone mass, and lean mass to give patients an accurate account of their progress. Shah and his team also provide patients with information and care to improve their overall health and wellness.
Founded in 1938, Slocum-Dickson Medical Group is a physician-owned, multi-specialty group practice that employs more than 50 physicians and several hundred staff.
