Derek Moon
SOLVAY, N.Y. — Solvay Bank announced it has named Derek Moon VP and chief information officer (CIO).
Moon has 15 years of experience in the information technology sector, the firm said in a news release. He is a graduate of Grinnell College and holds a master’s degree in technical direction from the University of Texas.
Moon comes to Solvay Bank from Byrne Dairy, where he worked for nearly seven years, most recently as that company’s director of information technology, according to Moon’s LinkedIn profile. He previously had been a senior automation engineer at Byrne. Before that, Moon worked for JR Clancy, Inc. as a control system specialist.
Founded in 1917, Solvay Bank says it is the largest independent commercial bank headquartered and operating in Onondaga County. Solvay Bank has branches in 10 locations — Solvay, Baldwinsville, Camillus, Cicero, DeWitt, Fairmount, Liverpool, North Syracuse, Westvale, and downtown Syracuse.
