SOS OST specializes in the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic injuries, sports-related injuries, and post-surgical care, the organization said in a news release issued Monday.
OST concentrates on treatments for a patient’s hand and wrist, foot and ankle, neck and back, and shoulder. The group also focuses on sports medicine.
The group seeks to help a patient “reduce and eliminate” pain, regain range of motion and strength, and improve “overall functional ability,” according to its release.
“Since SOS opened its OST practice, we’ve seen tremendous collaboration between SOS physicians and the therapists,” Dr. John Fatti, president of SOS, said. “This comprehensive interaction further enhances post-operative and non-operative patient care and is essential for each patient’s rehabilitation and recovery. We feel it in the best interests of our patients and the community to have another location in the western suburbs of Syracuse so that they have easy access to these services.”
Besides the upcoming Camillus office, SOS orthopedic and sports-therapy group already operates in five additional locations, the organization said in an email responding to a CNYBJ inquiry.
Those offices include Lysander; DeWitt at 5719 Widewaters Parkway; Clay at 5496 E. Taft Rd.; and Onondaga, which are all housed within SOS clinical locations. The DeWitt office at 5823 Widewaters Parkway stands alone.
The new Camillus OST location will initially include two physical therapists and two front-office employees, the organization said in its email response. SOS will add physical therapists and physical-therapy assistants as “as business grows.”
SOS will use existing staff members to begin operations at the Camillus location. The organization will hire additional staff as needed, it said.
Founded in 1999, DeWitt–based Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists has more than 25 physicians and employs about 600 additional staff members.
It operates offices in locations that include Auburn, Lysander, Camillus, Cicero, Clay, DeWitt, Manlius, and Onondaga.
SOS also operates the offices of the orthopedic and sports-therapy group, along with the Specialists One Day Surgery Center in Syracuse.
The organization also operates SOS Plus, its after-hours care center, with locations in DeWitt and Onondaga.
