Southern Tier Solutions Fair planned for manufacturers

ITHACA  —  A workshop planned for Cornell University’s campus next week will take a shot at pairing manufacturers with technical, educational, and economic-development resources that will help solve problems in their companies.

The Cornell Center for Materials Research and the Alliance for Manufacturing and Technology are hosting the workshop, which they are calling the Southern Tier Solutions Fair, on Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It is part of a series of statewide workshops.

Attendees will be asked to cite problems they want to solve in their businesses when they register for the event. Fair organizers will then use that information to match attendees with experts in one-on-one “advice and counsel” meetings. Available expert advice is set to include the fields of analytical services, product and process improvements, complex-modeling capabilities, technical expertise, and innovation engineering.
