SRC acquires Maryland company

Cicero–based SRC Inc. plans to add up to 1,000 new hires over the next five years in response to the state’s investment in the drone industry. The office of Gov. Andrew Cuomo included the SRC job details in a Thursday news release announcing an agreement between NASA and Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research Alliance (NUAIR). That agreement included the launch of the first phase of the world’s first 50-mile unmanned traffic-management (UTM) corridor between Syracuse and Rome. (Eric Reinhardt / BJNN)

CICERO, N.Y. — SRC, Inc. announced it has acquired SAZE Technologies, LLC, a Silver Spring, Maryland–based company that SRC has used as a subcontractor on some of its projects.

SAZE, which has a focus on radar research and development, is now a subsidiary under SRC Ventures, Inc., SRC said in a Monday news release.

The local firm didn’t disclose any financial terms of its acquisition agreement.

SRC is a nonprofit corporation, headquartered in Cicero, that focuses on areas that include defense, environment, and intelligence.

“This venture will bring new capabilities to our extensive radar knowledge base,” Paul Tremont, CEO of SRC contended. “The result will be an accelerated timeline for delivering systems to our warfighters. This will be a great synergy of [research and development] cultures and we look forward to having SAZE employees join the SRC enterprise family.”

SAZE’s 11 employees will remain in their Maryland office and continue working on existing SAZE contracts while also supporting SRC efforts. The firm was formed in 2012.
