CICERO, N.Y. — SRC, Inc. announced it has established a new machine intelligence and autonomy “center of excellence” (COE) and has promoted Sean O’Hara to lead the initiative as director.
The newly created COE will focus on “accelerating” the development and incorporation of autonomy-enabling capabilities into SRC’s products and services, the firm said in a Monday news release. The COE will ensure the company is leveraging the latest advancements in machine intelligence and autonomous technologies to more “quickly and efficiently” address customer needs.
SRC is a nonprofit corporation headquartered in Cicero that focuses on areas that include defense, environment, and intelligence.
As director of the COE, O’Hara will work to leverage machine learning and autonomy across the company’s products. He has worked at SRC for 23 years, most recently as technology director of electronic warfare.
In addition to his work at SRC, O’Hara teaches several internal graduate level courses in artificial intelligence and is assisting in the development of advanced-technology areas, the firm said.
O’Hara received his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering from Syracuse University and earned his associate degree in engineering from Onondaga Community College.
