SRC launches new Canadian company

CICERO, N.Y. — SRC, Inc. announced it has launched SRC Can Ltd., a new company in Ottawa, Ontario that works to solve problems that Canada is having in electronic warfare (EW).

SRC Can combines SRC, Inc.’s “more than 40 years of experience in EW” with a Canadian team of EW experts to provide capabilities for the country’s “toughest EW challenges,” SRC said in a news release. The company will focus on capabilities for mission intelligence and engineering services, along with the development of threat-simulator receivers that assist with airborne training and operations.

SRC Can is a subsidiary of SRC International, Inc., a holding company for SRC, Inc.’s companies operating outside the U.S., per the SRC website.

SRC is a nonprofit corporation headquartered in Cicero that focuses on areas that include defense, environment, and intelligence.

SRC Can is “helping to shape the future defense and intelligence information architectures” that will support the Canadian Armed Forces and their allies, SRC contended.

“We are excited to be launching SRC Can to strengthen our relationship with the Canadian Armed Forces,” Paul Tremont, president and CEO of SRC, said. “SRC Can will play a major role in supporting the EW modernization effort to help protect Canadian warfighters.”

Mark Patterson is the first SRC Can employee, serving as the managing director. He started work Oct. 1, SRC said in an email response to a BJNN inquiry.

Patterson will lead efforts to support SRC Can’s customers with EW modernization and intelligence mission data (IMD) efforts.

The company expects to expand SRC Can’s employee count by an additional 12 to 20 workers, in addition to Patterson, “to support several contracts over the next year,” per SRC’s email response.
