SRC launches new subsidiary FourV Systems

CICERO, N.Y. — SRC, Inc. has announced the formation of FourV Systems, LLC, a new wholly owned subsidiary based in Baltimore, Maryland.

The new venture will focus on providing “big data” analytics products that are “scalable and easily customizable to customers’ unique business needs,” Cicero–based SRC said in a news release.

The nonprofit research and development company has named Derek Gabbard as president of the new for-profit FourV Systems.

Gabbard most recently was a manager in SRC’s cyber business, SRC said.

“FourV Systems will bring game-changing technologies to the commercial market space, much like SRC has done for the U.S. government for more than five decades,” Paul Tremont, president of SRC, contended in the news release. “With Derek at the helm, we are confident that FourV Systems will help customers, around the world, protect their most valuable information, more efficiently and effectively.”

Gabbard will be responsible for building the FourV Systems team and operating the new company.

“With FourV’s office being located in a technology-rich environment like Baltimore, we’ll be able to hit the ground running and help customers be more secure in the cyber domain,” said Gabbard.

FourV Systems will start by offering the GreySpark “reasoning engine” as its primary product, SRC said. The GreySpark software combines “historical” big-data analytics and real-time processing to address needs in fraud detection and cybersecurity, the nonprofit added.

SRC focuses on areas that include defense, environment, and intelligence. SRCTec, another for-profit subsidiary, offers manufacturing and lifecycle support for complex electronics systems, the company said.
