St. Joseph’s Health hires McAndrew as health information management director

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — St. Joseph’s Health announced it has hired Sean McAndrew as director of health information management.

McAndrew joins St. Joseph’s Health from Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he served as associate VP for information technology/director of health information management services.

In his new role, McAndrew is responsible for affecting the ongoing quality and efficiency for all processes of the department to provide the systems for acquiring, analyzing, coding, storing, and retrieving information so that it can be appropriately used for patient management and billing, according to a St. Joseph’s news release.

McAndrew has nearly 20 years of experience in information management, clinical-documentation improvement, information systems, corporate compliance, medical informatics, and telecommunications.

He attended York College of Pennsylvania and received his master’s degree in health administration from the University of Scranton.
