SYRACUSE, N.Y. — St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center has hired nearly all of the December graduates from its college of nursing to available nursing positions at the hospital.
The hospital held an “offer day” last week to offer the positions, the hospital said in a news release issued on Monday.
Besides entry level nurses, St. Joseph’s is also recruiting for another 19 clinical-care managers (CCM).
A registered nurse CCM acts as a “principal liaison” between emergency services, surgical services, nursing, finance, physicians, utilization review, and medical records to ensure a patient has the “appropriate” bed and the proper treatment.
These nurses have expertise in patient placement, care, and progression, along with administrative, financial, and staffing management, according to the release.
St. Joseph’s will host an open house for “experienced” nurses on Jan. 7 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The event will include opportunities for on-the-spot interviews, the hospital said.
