St. Joseph’s Physicians, Imaging joint venture to provide outpatient imaging services

SYRACUSE — St. Joseph’s Physicians, an affiliate of St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, and St. Joseph’s Imaging (SJI) announced they’ll enter into a joint-venture agreement to provide outpatient-imaging services beginning New Year’s Day.

The arrangement calls for SJI to manage St. Joseph’s outpatient medical-imaging services, allowing for “a more efficient and cost-effective approach to patient care,” St. Joseph’s said in a news release.

The partnership will increase access to imaging services for patients, according to Fred Letourneau, senior vice president of St. Joseph’s Physicians.

“With the addition of SJI’s seven convenient locations, our patients will have easy access to highly skilled radiologists (physicians), the latest imaging technology, and compassionate care for their imaging needs,” Letourneau said in the release.

Founded in 1976, SJI is an independent physician-owned company offering radiology services throughout Central New York.

As an initial result of this collaboration, the imaging offices at North Medical Center in Clay and Northeast Medical Center in Fayetteville will expand their hours to accommodate patients’ needing services in the evening, St. Joseph’s said.
