ALBANY, N.Y. — The New York State government announced Monday that it is adding 10 more state-run mass vaccination sites to get COVID-19 vaccines into more arms faster as supplies increase.

The sites include one at SUNY Oneonta and another at Corning Community College.

The other sites include three on Long Island, two in the Hudson Valley, and one each in the Capital region, Western New York, and New York City.

The new vaccine venues remain in development and are expected to launch in the coming weeks, according to a news release from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office. Details, including appointment-scheduling information and hours of operation, will be released in the coming days.

The 10 new sites add to the 13 large, state-run COVID-19 vaccination sites already in operation. Those include locations at the New York State Fairgrounds near Syracuse, the SUNY Potsdam campus, SUNY Binghamton property in Johnson City, and the SUNY Polytechnic Institute campus near Utica.

Nearly 3.75 million New York state residents had received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine as of 11 a.m. on Monday, according to the state’s vaccine tracker website. That equals nearly 19 percent of the total population and about one-quarter of the adult population.
