LINDLEY, N.Y. — Manufacturing Automation Systems (MAS) plans to expand its operations and add jobs in the town of Lindley in Steuben County.

MAS will expand its existing facility by 25,000 square feet in the more than $5.5 million project, Empire State Development (ESD) said in a Monday news release. The expansion means MAS will create up to 14 new jobs and retain 17 existing positions, per the ESD.

The company plans to begin the project this year. It includes the purchase of manufacturing and fabrication equipment, which will allow the company to produce the automated equipment it currently designs.

ESD is helping MAS with a $600,000 capital grant and up to $210,000 through the Excelsior Jobs tax-credit program in exchange for the job-creation commitments.

MAS services customers in the automotive, telecommunications, life sciences, advance display, defense, and semiconductor industries.

MAS in 2017 purchased and repurposed the formerly vacant Lindley Presho Elementary School to use as its headquarters, as well as its engineering and manufacturing facility. The building had been empty for six years, ESD said.
