JAMESTOWN, N.C. — Aminy Audi, chairman and CEO of Manlius–based L. & J.G. Stickley, Inc., has been inducted into the American Home Furnishings Hall of 
Fame.
The induction ceremony was part of the International Home Furnishings Market held Oct. 18 at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center in Jamestown, North Carolina, the local company said in a news release issued Friday.
Actress Jane Seymour, known for her role in CBS-TV’s “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman,” hosted the event. Besides her acting talents, Seymour is also an author, artist, and designer, according to the Stickley news release.

The High Point, North Carolina–based American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. is “dedicated to the preservation of information regarding the U.S. furniture industry,” according to its website.
The Stickley news release describes the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame as “the furniture industry’s most prestigious organization of visionary leaders.”
A seven-member selection committee chose the five inductees on four “foundations,” including “enduring excellence,” “innovation and creativity,” “superior accomplishments,” and “philanthropic generosity.”
The Stickley release noted that during her acceptance speech, Audi said, “There is truly no greater or more profound honor that can be bestowed on an individual than to be recognized by one’s own colleagues and peers.”
She also thanked the industry for honoring her late husband, Alfred, by inducting him into the Furniture Hall of Fame in 2008.
Alfred and Aminy Audi in 1974 purchased Stickley Company, which, at the time, had fewer than 25 employees and annual sales under $250,000, according to the news release.
Now, in its 115th year as a manufacturer of solid wood furniture, Stickley employs more than 1,200 people.
The company has three manufacturing plants, 12 company-owned retail stores, and a network of independent dealers, according to its news release.
