SUNY BEST May 1 event in Binghamton to feature GlobalFoundries executive

BINGHAMTON — The SUNY Business and Education Cooperative of the Southern Tier (SUNY BEST) will host a talk called “GlobalFoundries: Business, Labor, Education and Beyond” on Thursday, May 1.

The event — held in room 220 at the Binghamton University Downtown Center, at 67 Washington St. in Binghamton — is free and open to the public, Binghamton University said in a news release.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, guest speaker Mike Russo was a proponent of advanced manufacturing and the importance of keeping industry as an economic driver in the United States. In his current role, he oversees government relations, regulatory affairs, and strategic initiatives in the U.S. for GlobalFoundries, Inc.

He will also discuss leveraging strategic relationships and initiatives as part of the company’s approach to government relations.
