CORTLAND — The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Cortland asked some employees to stay home today due to a power outage darkening several North Campus buildings.
Employees scheduled to work in Bowers Hall II, Brockway Hall, Cheney Hall, Cornish Hall, DeGroat Hall, Memorial Library, the Miller Building, the Moffett Center, Neubig Hall, Old Main, the Sperry Center, Van Hoesen Hall, and Winchell Hall were asked not to report to work. All other campus buildings avoided the power outage and are set to operate as scheduled, the university said in a notice posted on its website.
The outage also affected North Campus operations on Dec. 24. SUNY Cortland said it is working to fix the problem and expects power to be restored by the end of the week. In the mean time, the college is using backup generators to supply some power to blacked-out buildings.
