SUNYIT, nfrastructre partner on new education program

MARCY — The State University of New York Institute of Technology at Utica-Rome (SUNYIT) and nfrastructure will develop an education program to  further leverage and expand the nfrastructure Center for Competency in Information Technology (NCCIT).

NCCIT is a statewide public-private partnership between nfrastructure, the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) at the University at Albany, and SUNYIT to create a world-class workforce and services supply chain to deliver information-technology solutions to the state’s public and private enterprises.

The education and workforce development program includes curriculum development and delivery, mentorship and internship opportunities, business development, and employment opportunities.

Nfrastructure named Andrew Bellinger, formerly of BonaDent Dental Laboratories and Indium Corp., to oversee operations at NCCIT on the SUNYIT campus as site manager.

“We are pleased to be working with SUNYIT to get this education and workforce development program off the ground,” Larry Delaney, president of NCCIT, said in a release. “It parallels with Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s job creating and economic growth agenda for New York state and will better prepare students for tomorrow.”

“This is a crucial step in building a high-tech work force that will help New York remain competitive,” SUNYIT Provost William Durgin said. “The project-based learning opportunities are a perfect match between academics and industry.”
