SYRACUSE — Synapse Partners, LLC’s renovated downtown Syracuse headquarters has earned the U.S. Green Building Council’s highest Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

The environmental-risk and wholesale insurance company’s headquarters at 360 Erie Boulevard E. received LEED platinum certification for its green redesign and operation. Its environmentally friendly features include storm-water management that is part of Onondaga County’s Save The Rain Program, a green roof portion, a highly reflective roof segment, roof-mounted photovoltaic panels, high-efficiency lighting, efficient heating and cooling systems, energy-recovery ventilators, and solar-powered electric-vehicle charging stations.

“We encourage and support car sharing amongst our employees by providing electric cars,” Synapse Managing Partner Vita DeMarchi said in a news release. “They can drive these vehicles back and forth to work, with just a tiny fraction of the carbon footprint that a gas-powered car would have.”
