Syracuse airport director elected chair of national airport policy council

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Jason Terreri, executive director of the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA), has been elected chair of the Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) U.S. Policy Council.

The annual election places Terreri on the executive committee of ACI-NA’s leadership team, SRAA said in its announcement.

Founded in 1948, the Washington, D.C.–based ACI-NA advocates on behalf of airports in the U.S. and Canada to ensure federal legislation and regulations assist airports in their mission to operate safely and efficiently, SRAA said.

Recognized as “The Voice of Airports,” ACI-NA presents the views and recommendations of airport management to federal, state, provincial, and local governments, industry, the media, and the general public.

ACI-NA advocates for policies that strengthen the ability of airports, such as Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) to serve their passengers, customers, and communities, SRAA noted.

“I’m honored to have been elected to this important role within ACI-NA,” Terreri said in a news release. “Now, more than ever, we need open lines of communication with federal lawmakers and regulators to properly inform these decision makers on the challenges facing airports across the country. Developing and communicating clear, concise U.S. policy will be essential to airports like SYR successfully meeting the unprecedented demands being placed upon them.”
