Syracuse airport launches ParkSYR automated parking system

ParkSYR LogoSYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse Hancock International Airport is touting ParkSYR, which it describes as a new automated parking system akin to the E-Z Pass system that drivers use on the New York State Thruway.

ParkSYR gives members “automatic” entry and exit to the airport parking garage and open lot.

When enrolling for the program, members can choose to either register their existing New York E-Z Pass device or the airport will mail them a ParkSYR device, according to a news release the airport issued Feb. 1.

Once enrolled, members can automatically pass through designated entrance and exit lanes. The ParkSYR program will automatically charge the parking fees they’ve incurred to the credit card provided at the time of sign-up, Hancock Airport said.

ParkSYR members will also earn reward points for every dollar that they spend for parking. Users can redeem their reward points at any of Hancock International Airport’s terminal concessions, the airport said.

All new members will get a $5 bonus certificate for enrolling before March 1 of this year, per the news release.

For information on enrolling in the program, Hancock Airport suggests visiting www.flysyracuse.com  for details.
