SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) is “closely monitoring” the situation involving the coronavirus, which is also known as COVID-19.
As of now, Syracuse Hancock International Airport is operating “under normal conditions,” SRAA announced Wednesday.
The airport staff is working to ensure that heavily traveled areas of the airport “continue to be a priority” for its cleaning staff.
“Protecting the health and safety of our employees, passengers and guests remains our top priority. We will continue to monitor this disease and its potential impact on our operation,” Jason Terreri, director of Hancock Airport, said in a statement.
The airport is following the guidance of the Atlanta, Georgia–based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Onondaga County Health Department. The county health department has provided a page on its website dedicated to questions related to COVID-19.
If passengers have questions related to upcoming flights, they should contact their airline directly. Several airlines have announced waivers of ticket change and cancellation fees, the SRAA said.
