SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) is set to host an open house on the airport’s master-plan update on Thursday between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the J.P. Walsh conference room.

This second open house on the master-plan update will allow the public to learn more about the update process and review the facility requirements and initial development alternatives for consideration, the SRAA said.

Members of the public will be able to meet the project team, review critical information, ask questions, and provide comments on the future of Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR).

Airport master plans set forth the direction of an airport for up to 20 years. They provide a vision of the “specific, long-range” development plans of an airport based on forecasts of aviation activity, potential environmental effects, community compatibility, and financial feasibility, the SRAA said.

“Our team has been hard at work since our last public open house developing alternative solutions which will allow our airport to continue meeting the needs of our prospering region,” Jason Terreri, SRAA executive director, said in a release. “SYR is the gateway to Central New York and beyond, making it crucial we carefully consider all infrastructure development needs and opportunities to not only accommodate our forecasted traffic levels, but also provide the best customer experience possible.”
