SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) will hold a public open house on Wednesday between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., to discuss an update to its master plan.

The event is set for the airport’s J.P. Walsh conference room.

The open house will allow the public to learn more about the airport’s master-plan update process. The public can meet the project team, review information, ask questions, and provide comments on the future of Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR).

An airport’s master plan sets forth the direction it will take for up to 20 years. SRAA said. It provides a vision of the specific, long-range development plans of an airport based on forecasts of aviation activity, potential environmental effects, community compatibility, and financial feasibility.

“Public input serves as one of the key elements of the master-plan update process,” Jason Terreri, executive director of the SRAA, said. “As we dive into the master-plan update process, we can’t help but be excited about what the future holds for SYR. We look forward to sharing that vision with the public at our open house.”

Free parking will be provided in the airport’s overflow parking lot and masks are required.

Those interested in more information about the master-plan update process can visit the airport’s 2021 master-plan update page.
