SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse basketball announced Wednesday morning that it is adding Brown to the schedule with a game slated for next Monday, Dec. 27, at 6 p.m., at the Carrier Dome.
The schedule addition comes after Syracuse last Friday canceled the slated games on Dec. 18 against Lehigh and Dec. 21 versus Cornell due to COVID-positive tests on the Orange team.
Syracuse has a 5-5 record and hasn’t played since a 79-75 loss at Georgetown on Dec. 11. The Brown game could be sort of a tune-up for the Orange in advance of their contest against ACC foe Georgia Tech on Dec. 29 at the Dome.
Brown, a member of the Ivy League, is 8-5 so far this season. The Bears last played on Dec. 10. Brown was scheduled to play Rhode Island Wednesday tonight, but that game was canceled due to COVID issues in the Rhode Island program. Brown played a pair of power-5 conference teams tough earlier this season, losing 94-87 at North Carolina and 54-52 vs. Colorado, respectively. Brown also owns a 65-62 win over Bradley.
The last time Syracuse and Brown faced off was the 1st round of the 1986 NCAA Tournament at the Dome, with the Orange winning 101-52.
“On behalf of our student-athletes and staff, we appreciate and thank our fans for their patience and understanding, as we work through this fluid scheduling situation,” John Wildhack, Syracuse director of athletics, said in the Wednesday news release announcing the new game.
Tickets and parking passes for the postponed game with Lehigh will be honored for the Dec. 27 game with Brown.
Tickets will also be available for purchase online at Cuse.Com/Tickets or by phone at 888-DOMETIX (888-366-3849).
The box office will be closed on Friday, Dec. 24, through Sunday, Dec. 26, and will reopen on Monday, Dec. 27, at noon, Syracuse athletics said.
The Syracuse-Brown game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra and also broadcast on radio by the Syracuse Sports Network from Learfield IMG College.
