SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University announced today that it has scheduled its second exhibition game opponent for the men’s basketball team to segue into the 2015-16 season.
The Orange will face Florida Southern College, the 2015 NCAA Division II champion, on Sunday, Nov. 8 in the Carrier Dome.
Florida Southern, which also won the 1981 national title and owns 29 NCAA Tournament appearances, posted a 36-1 record last year. The private college is located in Lakeland, Florida — between Tampa and Orlando.

Syracuse last week announced that it would face its neighbor, Division II Le Moyne College in its opening exhibition basketball game on Monday, Nov. 2 at the Carrier Dome.

Last season, Syracuse played Carleton University from Canada and Adrian College from Michigan in its pair of exhibition games, winning both contests.
The Orange went on to post an 18-13 record for the regular season. They did not compete in post-season play due to self-imposed sanctions for NCAA violations.
Jim Boeheim enters his 40th season as Syracuse head coach this year.
