SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse University men’s basketball team will host Oakland University in a non-conference game on Dec. 6 at the newly renamed JMA Wireless Dome, Syracuse announced Monday.
The Orange and the Golden Grizzlies have played four previous times — all at the Dome and all won by Syracuse. That includes a 74-62 Orange win in the 2020-21 season.
Oakland, which is located in suburban Detroit and plays in the Horizon League, went 20-12 last season and failed to qualify for post-season play beyond its conference tournament.
Syracuse posted a 16-17 record last season, the program’s first losing season since the 1968-69 team finished 9-16. The Orange also had no-post-season last winter beyond the ACC Tournament.
