Syracuse Chiefs 2017 schedule stacked with promotions

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Chiefs recently announced an active promotions schedule for the 2017 season.

The first promotion is set for the minor-league baseball team’s opener on April 6 with General Manager Jason Smorol guaranteeing that the temperature will be at least 53 degrees, or fans can exchange their ticket stub for a ticket to any game in April or May.

This season’s promotions also include 20 post-game fireworks displays, including what the Chiefs are calling “the biggest fireworks show to ever to be held at NBT Bank Stadium” on July 4th.

The Chiefs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, will also offer 23 giveaways, including bobbleheads and replica jerseys.

The promotions schedule also includes the return of “fan-favorite national entertainment acts,” like the Washington Nationals “racing presidents” on Aug. 18 and Aug. 19, according to a Chiefs news release.

As in years past, the Chiefs will offer special day-of-the-week promotions with some new additions in 2017.

They include the new NBT Bank Family Sunday in which kids can eat for free and run around the bases once the game is over.

The team is also offering 25 cent Hot Dog Monday, which is “another new addition” this season.

The day-of-the-week promotions also include a Taco Tuesday, which the Chiefs say is “the only day to get tacos at NBT Bank Stadium;” along with the return of Winning Wednesdays, $1 Thursdays, Fireworks Fridays, and Super Saturdays.

If the Chiefs are victorious on any of the 10 Winning Wednesdays, fans can exchange their ticket stub for any future regular season home game in 2017.

The club will also feature a $1 Thursday for 13 games this season. On those days, fans can buy $1 Hofmann Hot Dogs, $1 Coca-Cola fountain drinks, and $2 Saranac, Coors, and Labatt products, along with 1911 hard cider.

The Chiefs have planned post-game fireworks after all 11 Friday home games.

In addition, the team’s “Super Saturday” promotion is described as such because it will include giveaways, along with postgame fireworks, which begin in June.
