SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The American Hockey League (AHL) announced that Syracuse Crunch forward Mitchell Stephens has been added to the North Division roster for the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic, to be held Sunday and Monday in Utica.

Stephens is taking the place of Matthew Peca, a Crunch player who was recalled by the parent club, the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL) on Jan. 21.

Stephens, 20, has appeared in 42 games with the Crunch this season. He leads the team with 15 goals and is tied for sixth with 25 total points, per a Crunch news release. The rookie center has scored in eight of his last 11 games.

The 6-foot, 195-pound Stephens is a native of Peterborough, Ontario. He is in his first year of his three-year entry-level contract. The Tampa Bay Lightning selected Stephens in the second round (33rd pick overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
