SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University announced Monday that its men’s basketball program will resume its storied rivalry with the Georgetown Hoyas, with games scheduled for each of the next four seasons.
Syracuse and Georgetown are set to start a four-game series on Saturday, Dec. 5, when the Orange visit the Hoyas at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. It will be their 91st all-time meeting.
The series will continue for the next three seasons with games in the Carrier Dome in 2016-17 and 2018-19, sandwiched around another contest at the Verizon Center in 2017-18.
The two long-time Big East rivals did not play the last two seasons following Syracuse’s departure for the ACC. Their last meeting was in the 2013 Big East Tournament, when Syracuse notched a 58-55 win.
