SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse Hancock International Airport says the road in front of the passenger terminal will be temporarily closed for the demolition of the canopy over the curbside pick-up and drop-off areas.
The closure was scheduled to begin Monday, the airport said in a news release.
Passengers will still be able to park in the garage and open lot. The rental-car return in the garage will not be affected.
Drivers who are only picking up or dropping off passengers may do so near baggage claim at both Terminal A and Terminal B.
The airport says drivers should “just follow signs as you approach the airport to see where you need to turn.”
For Delta Air Lines and United Airlines pick up and drop off, drivers should turn left at the stoplight onto Constellation Way North.
For JetBlue Airways, American Airlines, Allegiant Air, and Air Canada pick up and drop off, drivers should turn right at the stoplight onto Constellation Way South.
A map outlining the closure is available at http://www.syrairport.org/parking-transportation/construction-information/
The canopy-demolition work is the first phase of the $45 million renovation and upgrade to the passenger-terminal building.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the project during his regional State of the State address in Syracuse in January.
Hancock Airport expects crews will complete the project in October 2018.
