Syracuse Industrial Development Agency to begin live streaming meetings

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Fans of industrial development will now be able to watch the monthly meetings of the Syracuse Industrial Development Agency (SIDA) live on their computers, tablets, and smartphones.

The next meeting is Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. and is scheduled to be streamed through the Internet, according to a notice issued by the agency. The meeting will be viewable through Syracuse’s YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/cityofsyracuse.

Since Mayor Ben Walsh took office in January, the city has begun live streaming meetings and making recordings of them available for viewing online.

SIDA meetings take place in the Common Council chambers on the third floor of City Hall. Cameras have been positioned at the front and back of the room.

Among the items on the agenda for Tuesday’s SIDA meeting is approval for funding, not to exceed $7,500, to pay for streaming the agency’s meetings.
