Syracuse IT firm uses state aid to launch new training

SYRACUSE — IV4 Corp. of Syracuse is implementing a program to train workers on installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer and networking hardware with the help of a state grant.

The company received the $50,000 grant as part of the state’s Regional Council economic development initiative. IV4’s program will train 21 technical workers, increase efficiency, and possibly create new jobs, according to the state.

“It is a win-win for our company, our employees and this region,” IV4 CEO Michael Spoont said in a news release. “We need to run our company as efficiently as possible in order to stay competitive, and our employees need to keep their skills up to date to improve their careers. IV4 looks forward to increasing our productivity and playing an important role in the economic development of Central New York.”
