Syracuse IT firm wins VA contract

SYRACUSE — Systems Made Simple, Inc., a Syracuse–based information technology firm, won a $1.9 million contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The 12-month deal includes options that bring the total value to $5.7 million. Under the contract, Systems Made Simple (SMS) will provide program management, case management, and system integration support for the VA for Vets Program.

VA for Vets aims to increase the veteran employment rate to 40 percent within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Systems Made Simple will aid the effort with a suite of information-technology tools needed by the program.

“Our categorization as a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) gives SMS a unique perspective and investment in improving the career prospects of our nation’s veterans,” SMS co-founder and CEO Ron Fishbeck said in a news release. “The extensive professional history SMS has with VA makes us well-positioned to deliver successful results through the VA for Vets Program contract.”
