Syracuse man arrested after attempted robbery of Dunkin’ Donuts in Onondaga

ONONDAGA, N.Y. — The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that it charged a Syracuse man with attempted robbery of the Dunkin’ Donuts location that afternoon in the town of Onondaga.

At 12:16 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to the Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant at 4886 West Seneca Turnpike for a robbery in progress. The suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Nathan Kane of Syracuse, walked into the donut shop and demanded money from the employees. After the staff refused to give Kane money, he fled but was quickly spotted running behind a nearby business by an arriving deputy, the Sheriff’s Office said. No injuries were reported and Kane was taken into custody without further incident.

Kane has been charged with 3rd degree attempted robbery.
