Syracuse men’s lacrosse team named No. 2 seed in NCAA Tournament, hosts Yale Sunday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse men’s lacrosse team (12-2) was tabbed as the No. 2 overall seed in the 2017 NCAA Tournament and will host the Ivy League champion Yale Bulldogs (10-5) at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 14 at the Carrier Dome in a first-round game.

The NCAA announced the pairings on Sunday night.

Syracuse comes into the tournament, having defeated Colgate 11-9 in its season finale on the road last Saturday. The Orange have had a well-documented penchant for playing a lot of close games this season, winning most of them. Syracuse posted an 8-2 record in games decided by one goal this season. The team won all three overtime contests it played.
