SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Mets say We Care Wednesdays, which target nonprofit organizations, will return to NBT Bank Stadium during this upcoming season.
We Care Wednesdays allow the Mets to provide a “full game day experience” for 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations during Wednesday home games throughout the season, per the team’s announcement.
As a selected We Care Wednesday participant, the featured organization will get a concourse table at NBT Bank Stadium during a hump day home game.
It’ll also get a “first pitch experience,” one inning on the radio to promote the organization, and the opportunity to hang banners/signage for more awareness and branding.
In addition, the organization will get some fundraising — a ticket link will be provided to organizations and $4 of every ticket sold through that link will be donated back to the organization. It’ll also get exposure to thousands of people per game at no cost to the organization.
“We Care Wednesday was a huge success in 2023 & offered local 501(c)(3) organizations an opportunity to spread their mission,” Jason Smorol, general manager of the Syracuse Mets, said in a news release. “We are proud to provide a platform for these organizations and give them greater exposure to our fans both in the stadium & beyond.”
Organizations interested in participating must fill out an application online at syracusemets.com. Applications will be accepted from now through Feb. 15.
All organizations must be a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit with appropriate documentation to participate. The Syracuse Mets will select up to three organizations to participate during each Wednesday home game in 2024. Game dates will be mutually agreed upon by the Syracuse Mets & the organization, the team noted.
